Developer CD Projekt Red is still tinkering Cyberpunk 2077 before the DLC Phantom LibertySeptember edition. Case in point: The studio released a new patch for the open-world sci-fi RPG on June 20, fixing a number of bugs, including some that appear to have been around since day one.

Patch 1.63, which was released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, addressed a plethora of gameplay and quest issues. For example, the “I Walk the Line” quest in episode 2 used to have an issue where you would randomly die. It has been fixed; no more unsuspecting deaths when they stormed the Grand Imperial Mall. Meanwhile, some inconsistencies in NPC text counts were smoothed out in the Santo Domino region of Rancho Coronado. And if you’ve ever encountered a case where devices became unusable after unlocking the card, you can finally say that the bug kicks ass, as CDPR has eliminated that problem as well.

But also in the patch notes are fixes for what appear to be some of the game’s older bugs. Cyberpunk 2077 fans are sharing their thoughts on the latest update in the r/cyberpunkgame subreddit, suggesting that the version of the “enemy hack in progress” text left on the UI whenever transferring data or money may have “been in the game since 1.01.” as redditor DrunkLad and others in the comments guessed. Another issue, where you could die while doing the “All Along the Watchtower” quest in the epilogue, may have “been around since launch,” according to redditor major11f. People thought that before this update these issues were legitimate game features. I guess that tells you about the state Cyberpunk 2077 was in when it dropped in December 2020.

This update comes just a few months before Cyberpunk 2077is a $30 DLC, Phantom Libertywill be released on September 26. The upcoming expansion will introduce various changes to the game, including new romantic moments, a mini-game based on the fantastic Edgerunners anime, and more endings, some of which will not be closed behind Phantom Libertythe purchase.   • Only pain – Fixed an issue where the “Defeat the Cop” objective could not be completed because the cop was not present in the desired location.

  • Play it safe – Fixed an issue where holograms and platforms in the parade disappeared after autosave was loaded.

  • Play it safe – Fixed an issue where Takemura would not call to start the parade mission.

  • Pyramid song – Fixed an issue where Judy would disappear underground after entering the church.

  • Search and destroy – Takemura will now go to his hideout instead of standing in the middle of the room during Arasaka’s attack.

  • Sex on wheels – Fixed an issue where the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech would spawn underground and block progress.

  • Small man, big mouth – Enemies and the van now spawn correctly.

  • The robbery – Fixed an issue where Jackie was not present in front of Afterlife.

  • With a little help from my friends – Fixed an issue where the nomads were not present at the train station.

Open world

  • Fixed some cases where some concerts were stuck in the “Undiscovered” stage and wouldn’t start after approaching the area.

  • Fixed an issue where normal texts were appearing instead of subtitles for some NPC groups in Rancho Coronado.

  • Gig: Blood sport – V will no longer reflect standing backwards when looking in the dojo bathroom mirror.

  • Gig: Last login – Fixed an issue where the quest item could be obtained before the quest was activated, which broke the flow of the quest.

  • Concert: Going away party – Fixed an issue where it was not possible to enter the car with Flavio.

  • Concert: NaggvĂ­n – All security bots in the hotel now properly engage in combat.

  • Gig: On a tight leash – Fixed an issue that could cause the concert to get stuck without an objective after completing it.

  • Concert: Serial Suicide – Fixed an issue where the quest could re-enable after completing and get stuck on the “Stealing CCTV Footage” objective.

  • Reported Crime: Blood in the Air – Fixed an issue where the search was stuck on the “Search the crate” objective, even after searching the crate.

  • Reported crime: Comrade Red – Fixed an issue where the repository could not be searched.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the UI would display the text “Enemy hack in progress” while transferring money or data.

  • Fixed an issue where devices could become unusable after unlocking the map.

  • Fixed an issue where the FSR toggle was not grayed out after restarting the game with Dynamic Resolution Scaling on.

Visual

  • Fixed an issue where some surfaces had color artifacts when Path Tracing was enabled.

  • Fixed an issue where bright, colorful flashes would appear on the edges of certain objects when DLSS was enabled.

PC specific

  • Fixed a crash on startup when using Razer Chroma.

  • Fixed an issue where screenshots in Photo Mode could appear as empty files and moved them back to their original folder location.

  • Improved performance of DLSS Frame Generation on AMD processors.

Exclusive to console

  • Changed the number of available save breaks on Xbox to 20 for manual saves and 10 for Point of No Return saves. Players who have a save count that exceeds the new save limit will need to delete some saves in order to create new saves.

  • Addressed an issue affecting performance on Xbox Series X|S after playing for extended periods of time.
