Scholarship Details 2024 US Government TechGirls Summer Exchange Program For Young Women

Since 2012, the TechGirls Summer Exchange Program has trained and mentored 653 teenage girls. Initially, the program primarily focused on countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Starting in the summer of 2022, the TechGirls program expanded its global reach by engaging a talented group of young women interested in STEM fields from the United States and select countries across all six regions of the world, which include the Western Hemisphere, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Eurasia, East Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, and South and Central Asia.

At the heart of the TechGirls program is a 24-day immersive experience in the United States. In collaboration with Virginia Tech, participants take part in an interactive TechCamp, delving into cutting-edge technologies and exploring various educational and career opportunities within STEM fields. Subsequently, TechGirls travel to one of several U.S. cities (Austin, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, or Seattle) for community immersion and hands-on exploration of STEM careers.
